The Third Australian atlas of healthcare variation explores how the use of healthcare services in Australia varies depending on where people live. Using information routinely gathered by the health system, it maps variation in healthcare use across Australia and considers why this variation might be occurring.
This information can help to develop effective policy and strategies to improve Australian health care. If the variation in care results from differences in people’s access to care or in the appropriateness of care, there is an opportunity for the health system to improve.
Biotext copyedited the atlas, proofread it after design and produced an index.
