Skills: Carolyn has extensive experience and expertise in science writing, editing and proofreading. She has incredible attention to detail and understanding of technical data and research. Her main areas of work have been in agriculture, environment, animal health and human health.
Qualifications: Carolyn has a PhD in botany. She is an Accredited Editor (Australian Institute of Professional Editors, 2009). She is also a member of the Australian Science Communicators (ASC).
Experience: Carolyn worked as a research fellow at the Australian National University for 9 years revising numerous grass genera, and preparing taxonomic descriptions and identification keys for the Flora of Australia.
Since joining Biotext in 2006, she has edited reports and manuals for a large number of clients, including the Australian Centre for International Agricultural Research, Animal Health Australia, the Australian Government Department of Agriculture and Water Resources, the Australian Government Department of the Environment, the ANU Centre for Aboriginal Economic Policy Research, the World Health Organization and the Joint United Nations Programme on HIV/AIDS.
Carolyn has a strong eye for detail and, as Biotext’s style manager, she maintains the Biotext style manual and client-specific stylesheets for our editorial team.
