Skills: Carrie is a science publications specialist, with a technical background and writing and editing qualifications. She is highly experienced in managing large, ongoing projects.
Qualifications: Carrie has a bachelor’s degree in science, majoring in genetics, and worked for 10 years in genetics, cancer and diabetes research in Canada and Australia.
In 2012, Carrie completed a Diploma in Professional Writing and Editing. She is an accredited editor for the United Nations Population Fund and UNAIDS, and is a member of the Australian Science Communicators (ASC). Through her work at Biotext, Carrie has developed an interest in literature reviews and evidence-based medicine, and has completed an ‘Introduction to clinical research and evidence-based practice’ through Monash University. She also attended the Cochrane Australasian Symposium 2013 and the G-I-N Conference 2014.
Experience: Since joining Biotext in 2008, Carrie has specialised in working with our health and biomedical clients. She provides expert writing and structural editing services, and has a particular skill in writing for the web. Her diploma studies have added speechwriting, copywriting, journalism and desktop publishing to her already-solid writing and editing skills. Carrie also attends scientific conferences and workshops and writes up the proceedings.
Carrie is the account manager for many of Biotext’s international clients, including the World Health Organization and UNAIDS.
