Skills: Julie is a highly experienced content developer and strategist who specialises in health and biomedical science. She is especially skilled at distilling information from meetings and conferences into concise reports, minutes and recommendations.
Qualifications: Julie has a PhD in microbiology and molecular biology, a research background in antimicrobials and immunobiology, and a Master of Public Health. She is an Editor in the Life Sciences (Board of Editors in the Life Sciences, USA), an Accredited Editor (Australian Institute of Professional Editors), and an accredited editor for UNAIDS and the United Nations Population Fund. She is also a member of the Australian Science Communicators, the Australasian Medical Writers Association and Editors NSW.
Experience: With her particular strengths and interests in public health and health policy, Julie has managed a number of major health-sector projects involving content strategy, technical writing, editing and consultancy. Her clients include the Australian Government Department of Health, Cancer Australia, the National Health and Medical Research Council, the Therapeutic Goods Administration, and the Australian Commission on Safety and Quality in Health Care.
Julie is experienced in guiding large projects through the entire content development process, from the first draft through to stakeholder input, editing, design and final publication.
Julie particularly enjoys working with Biotext’s graphic designers to create content that is visually engaging and informative.
